A number of NRA instructors, many in California, have found out through testing that most women do well with pistols in the .32 caliber and .38 caliber ranges. For some women, a good .38 revolver works well. Such revolvers can be loaded down using softer recoil loads so that women can control recoil of the revolver. Most women do very well with a .32 acp Walther semi-auto pistol once they master how to manipulate them. When trained and use to the .32 Walther, women can easily transition to using a .380 Bersa pistol with no problem at all. |
