Default Cchl

Applied for my CCHL at the local sheriffs office two days ago and was told by the woman who took my finger prints that it would take 90 days until I got a response from the attorney generals office. I applied in Kansas and was told by a local gun shop clerk that it could be as early as three weeks for a response. Has any one gotten their response from the attorney general a lot sooner than the average 90 day time?

In Missouri, the "advertised wait" is 45 days. When I applied for mine, sitting in the sheriffs office waiting to be processed, a gun came in and picked up his paperwork. I asked him and he told me it took 45 days, on the nose. Then I was escorted into the backroom by a deputy and was fingerprinted. In conversation with him he also said that the norm was 45 days.
Two weeks later the sheriffs office called me to tell me it was ready to be picked up. So from the time I took the CCW class till the time the CCW was in my hand was about 16 days.

I hope I have your luck. If I would have just applied for it a year ago like I had originally planned, I wouldn't be waiting by the mailbox everyday. I would already have it by now.

CCHL/CHP/LTC's are in high demand right now, people are coming out of the woodwork to get theirs...especially women...(love it!).

There is a significant backlog of applications so it's going to take time...be patient...

A buddy of mine in Ma took the required courses last spring, took them until a month ago to give him his "interview" with the sheriff, and was then told it would be 6 weeks to 6 months before he heard back. Look at the bright side, at least your not him...

Never know, you may get lucky and get it soon...
