Its more of a personal decision. Sometimes i dont carry reloads for my 357, sometimes i carry 4 reloads. Depends on the situation.

The mag is the weakest link in the semi-auto setup. If it goes bad, then I have another.

I keep a spare in my left pocket. I dont see a need for belt magazine carry.

I subscribe to Murphy's law which states that:

"Anything that CAN go wrong WILL go wrong."

Magazines can fail and Goblins can bring friends...

Yes, I carry back up mags...

Tack

Yep, usually carry one 8 rounder in my 1911 and two 7 rounders in my pocket. As well as a box of ammo in my truck door, and some shotgun shells for my 12 gauge too.

My current primary carry is a Glock 36. Since its only 6+1 having more ammo makes more spence than with my Glock 17 but I carry it as much in case my first mag malfs as for more ammo.

So, one in the gun and one on my pocket.

I'm actually trying double carry right now. Have yet to reach the point of paranoia that would mandate extra mags. May though, some day, more likely with the more time I spend around you overthetop crazies.
