After some serious thought. I'm gunna carry an extra mag if I'm going to be venturing far from my truck or in a bad area. I work in some of Houston's worst areas so I'll be carrying a spare more than not. Thanks a lot for all the advice and stories.

This is the first thought that crossed my mind, and the most critical point favoring extra mags.

I usually carry one extra mag because my primary carry guns are quite limited in capacity. I typically carry either a 5+1 XDs or an 8+1 Shield.

When I carry a higher capacity XDm45, I usually don't carry a spare. Not just because of the capacity in the gun, but also the weight and bulk that would accompany that extra higher capacity mag. It's a personal decision. In a G19 I would say there's plenty of good reason to carry an extra mag. But I'd also admit that I probably would choose not to. I hate carrying extra weight. But I absolutely would keep a couple extra loaded mags in my vehicle (or desk, briefcase, purse...or whatever suits your daily routine) if only carrying one.

I carry a XD 45. 13+1. Yes I carry extra clip(s). 1 extra on the holster, and one extra in the car. Like it was mentioned before, the magazine is the week link. I would rather be safe than sorry. I have been questioned why I have 40 rounds on me. I ask them what would limit the amount of bad guys I would have to deal with. Many gangs work in packs. I may not survive, but I am going to take out as many as possible before I go down. And I do have a Kevlar lined jacket.

In Tejas it is. Some churches will actually have a 51% sign in there window. Meaning any business that serves more alcohol than food you cannot legally carry in. Some churches will put the same sign in. But no in Tejas you are not suppose to carry in a church or synagogue.

Sooo, Texas churches apparently serve a lot of alcohol; being a

religious institution, and holding communion, I guess they can also

legally serve it to minors.
