Once was while deer hunting by a guy who went a drink to far and almost got a load of buckshot back for his 30.06. He excused himself from the field for the day.

Otherwise, i ain't saying nothing about it.

Yes it was and still may be. One of the guys I worked with had his horse shot out from under him by 2 "hunters" on his own posted property. Those 2 went to jail for trespass and assault.

Me too. "I was shot at many times on convoys in Iraq. Not really anything to be learned from there except showing up with superior firepower trumps potshots from pickup trucks most of the time. "

Had a 9mm richochet and burn my cheek. All I know is I was the only one in the range and a split second after a shot I hear a zing and feel a burning sensation on my cheek. I looked behind me and found a semi-fragmented bullet on the ground

I was hoping to find out what the first thing people did when they were shot at, not in a military situation. I know for military folks it's different. For me both times as a civilian I dove for cover, drew my weapon (I was armed both times, black powder guns but still armed) then once behind cover checked the situation. I never shot back because both times people shooting with out a back drop with me beyond them. I did shoot to make noise so they would know I was there, one time it worked, the other it didn't. I guess I was wondering if anyone else dove for cover as a first response.

I understand not wanting to talk about it.

Well, the time my buddy's girlfriend almost shot me in the ass with a .32, i turned and said "did you just shoot at my butt?". After that, i looked for new holes; gotta say, not much penetration on that non-jacketed .32 (was stopped by cheapo wood chair back).

Never, EVER turn your back on a chick with a gun.
