Go to www.pistolwear.com. They have a great product. Completely conceals with any type of shirt you do not tuck into your belt.

I bought an Uncle Mike's Gunny Sack years ago. I had to mail order it because the local indoor range /gun shop refused to sell it to civilians. The county police threatened to boycott them if they did sell to civilians ( I was a private security guard ). After all of the expense and anticipation, I found I didn't like the fanny pack . It made noise when you ripped it open and pulled the Velcro apart. It wasn't recommended, as per the instructions, to carry a Glock or similar gun in it. It was too slow to draw from . It didn't always open when I tried it . I will admit it never aroused anyone's suspicion .
Maybe some fanny packs are good, for all I know, but I see them as a way to have a gun on hand when trouble erupts nearby rather than a quick draw defense against an attacker .

Finally got my CCW. I carry in a fanny pack since I've worn a fanny pack (without a gun) for a lot of years. I'm just starting to try practicing to draw (dry-fire) with it. I agree with Rentacop, it doesn't always open all the way. And it does make noise when you open it. (Mine has a zipper instead of Velcro, but still makes noise).

Anyone have any useful links to training references for how to deploy the gun from a fanny pack? Be nice to not teach myself a bunch of bad habits.

First off, just like holsters, with fanny packs you have

The good- Thick, well made, comfortable, with a wide belt,

and a heavy duty buckle.

The bad- Wal-Mart Specials, cost less than 15.00, and most

folks would be reluctant to store old receipts in them. Thin,

belt collapses, buckle is a discount store reject.

The ugly-those neon pink, orange, purple, green,- funky bank-promotion

freebies with a well-known company logo, wouldn't trust it to

store a mag for a .22 BUG. Won't hold a toothbrush, belt's

a reject from a cheap backpack strap manufacturer, zipper is

dog crap.

I use the good- and I CCW full size, with extra mags.

Stay away from the bad and the ugly...

Fanny Pack = Concealed Handgun IMHO but then again criminals are probably not thumbing through CCW carry options the way we do.

If your going this route I would suggest making sure the buckle secures "right next to the pack" so it's in front of you where you can defend it.

Crooks do look at fanny packs the same way they look at purses and if they can hit a snap release and rip it from your body...

They're probably only looking for rental car key's, hotel room key, and your wallet and could also wind up with your gun.

Tack
