They arent for me either, i had a fellow deputy that always wore one off duty with a .380 inside. He competed as a powerlifter all over the US, he was 6'0 230lbs and could benchpress 800lbs "not exaggerating".. Even though i thought the fanny pack looked a little silly,i dont think anyone else would try and tell him that.

Not to highjack this thread but back in the mid 1960's I was a member of a weight gym in Seattle and there was a Seattle policeman that was training there that was doing 600 lb squats, don't know what he could do on benchpress but his arms were as big as my leg muscles. Trouble is, the way he acted I was pretty sure he was using steroids. He was scary.

Hey bud, do you wear pumps or flipflops with that????? I'm just joking bro whatever works for you bro , not for me though. I haven't but would try a fanny pack , I've used one for hunting for over 20yrs and I would say although it may be a little slow deploying your weapon I think it would be very difficult for someone to get it off your person. Again joking

I have some nice black boots that go great with it. I also like the bag because I have a pair of cuffs, a asp retractable baton, a multi tool, 357mag and anything else I may need. For me it works and I can unzip the gun and shoot as fast as most can deploy there gun from a in the waste holster.

I also It's just as easy to cary concealed under a shirt in the summer time. I live here in Southern Florida and wear the shirt outside my cargo shorts with the AIWB holster or many times I carry my G26 or G36 in a front pocket holster and nobody can tell. When I use to go to the beach, I would wear a good leather Fanny Pack but so do many people at the beach wear them to keep their wallet, car keys and many other things while wearing a bathing suit.

Where I live, only tourists wear fanny packs, they stick out like a sore thumb on a man around here. No self respecting redneck would be caught dead with one. When I see one on a local, I know he is carrying.

I have to tell you folks, you can conceal IWB a ful size 1911, it requires a GOOD belt and a GOOD holster. You can't pull it off with a wimpy belt and a cheap nylon holster. You can do this in summer clothes without showing. I am an average size man and I do it every day.

I don't know what "average" is at to compare with my boney butt, but I'll tell you that I couldn't hide a full size 1911 for love nor money. It would look like I had huge tumor growing on my side. I would like to acquire an K or MK 40 Kahr then I might be able to use an IWB holster.

Lots of pros and cons here. I think I am going to get a good FP and a good IWB and try them both out. The only holster I have found that I can use, without printing bad, is an IWB at the small of my back. I may just have to get a new carry gun, maybe a XD40 sub-compact.

It would look like a brick on my side as well, you scoot it to the back, and it fits in nicely just in front of you jeans rear pocket, you wear a baggy shirt, preferably in a print. Try it, you might be surprised.
