treat this guy like you would a drunk driver.
1. Relieve him of his right to carry a firearm for 1 year.
2. Send him to mandatory training (that he has to pay for).
3. Upon successful completion of the training and the 1 year suspension, return his right to carry.

Hear, hear! Went through that a couple weeks ago. Of course, "de-escalation" consisted of me running like Mercury Morris while yelling "Don't you do that" not because I was worried about being shot, but because I really didn't weant to shoot the crackhead. It was meant to be an ass-whupping, not a gunfight.

These are the idiots that get on the news and become the target of the grabbers. WE (the gun owning people) really need to stop giving these guys the ammo.

I can't believe this guy made it to 47 years of age!! They should give him a license to roam aimlessly on the freeway... no car of course.
How will we thin the herd if all we do is coddle the ignorant?

All I can say is that the report tells the story of a "STUPID" person.

There's always one a$$hat that decides it's his responsibility to ruin it for everyone else. Before I got my license, it was always the OC people I saw who were the most polite - always held the door open for the next person, always a smile and a hello.
I don't open carry, and always try to be polite; but when I carry I feel that I have a responsibility do be the most level-headed, polite, responsible person in the room.
It's sad that the only ones people are going to know are concealed carrying are the morons who decide to brandish it over a steak.

I heard that 100%. I avoid confrontation at all cost. I will only show someone my weapon if it is to avoid shooting them. I would rather someone think I am a coward than to kill them when it could have been avoided!
