But seriously, we have an uphill battle now to try and undo decades of indoctrination and misinformation put out by the progressives through many outlets, the most disturbing being OUR schools!!! MOST (not all) teachers are card carrying union progressives and they make it a point to try and 'teach' our children how 'bad and evil' guns are.
I am LOVING watching the progressives/liberals crying and gnashing of the teeth at the institution of "higher learning" i attend...MANY positions have been cut/eliminated and many have had their hours cut drasticly....WHY? Owebummer care they were all for a couple years ago....hehehehe. Much as i HATE watching my health insurance premiums double and triple every year for the past 3...i am LOVING watching those that were all about the socilaist agenda being forced to EAT IT!

"Guns only breed violence and create more criminals"

But that's what gun control is for right?

"Gun control works."

Oh, and here's a good one.

"Someone will take a gun away from you and use it on you"

It's possible, but the BG is much more likely to end up with a few extra holes in him if he tried.

I was once told that "guns are accomplices to murder".

The most ridiculous may be "houses with a gun in the house are more likely to have a gun accident" obviously they are, it's like saying that most car accidents happen in or around cars

Without weapons, we would all be at the mercy of the strongest among us. I prefer the equalization of a firearm.

Many people did not grow up with guns in or around the home. The only guns they have ever seen are on TV. What they know about guns comes from disasters that seem to pop up so often now days. They know that thousands of people kill each other every year in cities across the nation. They see that nuts put on their tacticool clothes and go out and kill as many random people, including children, as possible.

If you can't understand why some others don't like guns, you are missing something important.

The reverse of that... Maning a table at a gun show and having someone tell you "I don't believe in politics." Really? What do you think drove you here today jerk***!?

Not SURE this is an anti gun excuse. I gave a gift membership to the NRA to a non-gun owning pro-gun-rights old colleague who told me the year before he joined the NRA. Somehow he thought that was a joke. Not voting for Obama again, he talked up Romney as soon as he saw his nice hair. The gift subscription (no solicitations or calls) to America's First Freedom, which he later referred to as "junk mail," was in the name of Rob "Mitt" Goldstein. Rob thanked me when he got the postcard announcing it but two months later he was pissed and called me. The best line in his accusatory and vitriolic attack?

"My wife asked me 'what the hell is that'? What am I supposed to tell her, HockaLouis, and my kids*, huh!? There's a picture of a gun in my house!!!"

He was freaking out.

*both in college by the way.
