A Smith & Wesson Model 19 with a 4" barrel that I talked my mother into signing for since I was under age back in 1974. It was lightly used but it was my prize then and still is now.
When I got it and started hand loading using an old "Lee Loader" I loaded rounds that were really to hot for a S&W "K" Frame but it took them all without complaint. The only "work" that has been done is that the the trigger has had the serrations ground off and the edges rounded in one of my early attempt at "gunsmithing". In spite of my early attempts it continues to soldier on, has never failed me, and I still shoot it regularly.
The last time I had to shoot the NRA Law Enforcement Instructors Course with a revolver I managed to end up with an average of 296 out of a possible 300. Trust me, that says more about the quality and accuracy of my lovely S&W Model 19 than it does about my skills as a shootist.
Is there any doubt as to why it is my nightstand gun? It has taught and retaught me more about shooting skills more than any firearms I've owned and will no doubt be the handgun that will stay with me as other come and go.

For almost 35 years, I have owned an H&R single-shot 12 gauge that I bought for $69. I killed my first turkey and deer with that gun. I have owned and sold many guns since, all more technologically advanced and higher in price. But I will always cherish that gun and one day, my first grandson will own it. I'd have to say that's my favorite gun.

Stevens 59c , .410 bolt action, 5+1, was my grandfather's 1st gun, his dad bought it for him when he was 6. It fed his family when his dad died very young. I inherited it almost a yeat and a half ago. Along with that shotgun i inherited a rifle. An enfield .303, my grandma had bought it for my grandpa in 62 or 63 for Christmas, he told me once that she even shot it, getting knocked on her hind end, but still hitting the bullseye.

My Glock 22 .40 w/extra Bar Sto .357 SIG, and 9mm barrels. Switch them at will and never had it miss a beat. Then for reaching out and touching someone, my Winchester 70 .300 WSM.

I once owned an H&R 12ga single shot folding model that was full choke, and could really reach out for pheasant or deer. Kicked like a mule, though. Sold it when I joined the Navy and wishin' I still had it.
Favorites now are:
Rifle - Savage 110 25-06
Shotgun - S&W 1000 Auto
Revolver - OM Blackhawk .41 mag
Auto - FN Hi Power .40

Although my new AR-15 is really fun to add accessories to and make 'my own', my very favorite gun I own to shoot as well as the hunting memories, etc that go hand in hand with it, is my Sako 25.06:

WOW, that sounds like me. If it was not my favorite gun I would not have bought it.
