Is a 9mm to small for a CCW?

Is a 9mm to small of a gun for a CCW? My buddy is really trying to get me to not buy a 9mm for my summer CCW. I have a S&W 40 that I will be carrying in the winter with the use of extra cloths but I need to get a smaller gun for the summer. I was looking at a SKYY 9mm. He absolutely things a 9mm gun is worthless. A gun that you will carry is far better than a gun left at home because its to heavy or big. But as far as caliber goes do you think a 9mm is a bit small to take someone down?

Or I should say the new name is SCCY they had to change their name from the old name SKYY. Any thoughts on this gun?

Personally I prefer the 40., but that is just my opinion. There are some real nice sub-compacts in .40 S&W and 45 acp. Although, in the end you have to do what feels right to you. Trust me on this one. HJ

Well, a 9mm is really just a .45ACP set on "stun" - but having said that, with the right defensive round, it can work just fine.

My woman carries a 9mm 1911, all steel, with a 135gr +P hollow points. With her shooting ability & the stopping power of that round, I am comfortable with her out of my sight.

If you put a good defense round in it it will do just fine. get one with a big hollow point.

Seriously? Shot placement is what really matters. 9mm is an effective round for self defense. Like any other caliber, select a good JHP like HST, Ranger T, Gold Dots, etc. and you'll be fine.

9x19mm WILL do the job rather efficiently.

Keep those rounds between the shirt pockets, and the threat will not continue.

2 in the Chest 1 in the head.

The 3 pop is perfect for 9mms.
