A few positives...

  • one of the more time-tested JHPs on the market
  • among the most popular choices for LE
  • offered in a variety of loadings and weights for all common calibers
  • affordable- like about $25-30 for 50rds...many JHPs cost $1/rd

If you want some advice on 9mm PD ammo, I think there is little difference in the current JHP's offered today. (That's not the advice.)

I figure if the Tango doesn't go down in the first three taps, he's made it to cover. That's why my fourth and remaining rounds in my mag are FMJ. I don't need them expanding and scrubbing off energy going through a car door or wood framed wall. (That's the advice.)

It's also why I tend to switch to .45 ACP in cooler weather or if I suspect the need to go heavy.

Get her dirty, then clean her so she starts to respect you. When her trust is complete, she will serve you well for a lifetime!

I use Mcnetts Doubletap or Hornady Critical Defense. Try some different ones out and see what you like. Good luck.

I use either Speer Gold Dot 124gr +P or Federal HST 124gr +P. Both are generally well regarded SD choices with the added bonus of being available in more economical 50 round packages.
