Towboater, i think IIRC, that KY was one of the states proposing some of the same laws.

Dearhunter,
Can you provide a link to the current legislation? When I Googled "Wyoming Firearms Freedom Act" it only came up with stuff that happened back in 2010.

Montana started this whole thing with the FFA (Firearms Freedom Act) and it has been working its way through courts for 3 years. The feds can't seem to get a win so they take it to a higher court. Who knows how long this process will take though. Because if they push it too hard it will garner national attention, which is probably not what the feds want. Last I heard, there are already 17 states that have passed very similar or identical legislation to the FFA.

Maybe these State's actions will also serve to telegraph a message to those on Capitol Hill who have not yet made up their minds on new "gun control" laws - and by the way - doesn't Congress have more pressing issues to deal with, or is passing feel-good legislation for the "puppies and kittens" crowd our real priority? Under Obama, I think my question is rhetoric.....

The media is playing up the handful of earth mothers who gathered at Washington DC. They support more gun control and the murder of NRA managment. It is like Jane Fonda setting with a communist gun crew during the Vietnam war.
At the same time in the antigun state of California over 24,000 gun owners attended one gun show.

Arizona has a state militia (not the NG) and now there are bills on the floor to make all able bodied persons a member regardless of age. This means that as a member of a state militia the feds can not restrict your firearms.

It appears that a revolt is in the winds. I have sent e-mails to all of my representative that are supportive of our 2nd Amendment urging Florida to do the same.

Under the federal law called The Militia Act of 1903. All males between the ages of 17 and 45 are considered part of the "unorganized" militia.

S.C. is proposing a similar law.
We do have Fabrique Nationale (FN) guns manufactured here in state.
