Those pics are fairly early. They have 30 rounders nearby. They eventually came up with a mag holder that fits in the magwell, so the gun cannot be accidentally charged and discharged but holds a mag jus outside the mag well. This way all they do is release the block, turn the mag an insert. Then they are ready to go.

Similar but the mag sits at a 90 degree angle under the mag well.
