Default Son uses father's gun to save his family

It has been said "The only thing that will stop a bad guy with a gun, is a good guy with a gun!" that is kinda what happened here.
One good guy with a gun stopped three bad guys with guns.
"The entire attack lasted less than a minute." this report said, there was no time to dial 911.

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/02/24/son-uses-fathers-gun-to-defend-parents-from-armed-home-intruders/

This was in the Houston, Texas area just to think how bad would it have turned out if it was somewhere that guns in the home were illegal??
There is a good chance that three would have lost there lives, not just one.

Stories like these are why there is always a gun on my hip.

Scary stuff, glad the Familly came through unscathed.

Tack

I don't hate haha. I'm hoping it was...which is likely since the media didn't report someone defending their family with an ar

That kid did the right thing. When the chips were down, he did what he had to. However, regardless of the circumstances, he did take a life, and he will have to live with that for the rest of his. I pray that he will be able to cope with what he did. As another member on here says in his sig.:

When you take the life of another human being, you will feel regret. It is much better to feel regret than to be room tempeture.

That said, good job kid! He did what he had to do, and he and his parents are ok. Every day after this one is a gift, make the most of it. Things could have been a hell of a lot worse. I for one, am glad that they didn't.

I don't think it really matters what kind of gun was used or what color it was. It's great to hear that the family is fine and unfortunate that the man's son had to kill someone to repel a home invasion.

That kind of crap happens more here since the economy went south. More likely than not, it was about money and/or drugs, but the police can make that determination after interrogating their suspects.

If our liberal mayor would quit wasting so much money on fruitless spending targets and put more money into crime prevention and perhaps more police officers on the street, this kind of thing wouldn't happen quite as often. The police are a visual deterrent, but they are just that. Criminals can and will prey upon people in their own homes because even with more police officers and more effective policing, the police are not omnipresent.
