Default NRA new member

Well,
one thing the proposed bill from Feinstein has already accomplished... I got a NRA membership.
This may sound weird since am a foreigner living abroad but I do think that:
1) AWB is not going to solve the issue with mass shootings or gun violence
2) In every democracy / republic there is ALWAYS a pressure from power groups towards oligarchy. A constant erosion of the citizens' rights is carried on or at least attempted. A constant outing from decision making is forced upon the citizens.
Given this disarming the citizens before some though decisions are made on their skin seems just a smart cautionary measure.

That's why it's time to say NO.

Kind regards.

Winer: Where are you? England? It's cool when people from other countries get on here.

look, I am not a professional writer so clearly I am not making my point well enough (for some anyway). the anti gun crowd, led by their President, is going to spend their time deciding what guns we can and cannot have. Simple question here folks: do you or do you not want the NRA to be involved in these discussions, or do you want laws to go on the books without any NRA representation in the conversation?

if this means I have an "agenda", so be it - my agenda is called "stick to your guns but be involved in the process"
Chloe, after reading through some of your posts on this issue, i see that we are closer in agreement than disagreement. now i do feel that if a man can afford a 16" deck gun or a F-16 fighter jet, then by gosh he should have one. the only line i have to agree upon would be nuclear, biological and chemical weapons, but i also feel the government shouldn't have those either but they do. now for the most part, i really have little fear of them simply because it's highly doubtful the government would use them on their own citizens in our own country.

Chloe, for the most part i feel you're on board here and your heart does seem to be in the right place.

Axxe I agree about the NBC aspect. Wasn't the intent of the 2A for the people to have the same weapons as the government? Back then it was muskets, today it's MAG58's, MiniMis, and M4's. I should be able to buy a MiniMi for $15K, not $250K bc of some bs unconstitutional INFRINGEMENT.

if they didn't infringe upon the 2nd amendment, and if a arms maker made them and sold them to the military for $15,000, then a private citizen should be able to buy them for the same price.

The Militia Act of 1903 says yes. Why arent pro gun politicians using this? Or are they even aware.

No kidding. Maybe if our 2A wasn't infringed upon someone would make a .22 conversion kit for the MiniMi. How cool would that be!

Italy. We have some pretty crazy gun control laws here too. Guess what? The Mafias have all the AKs (full auto) they want.
At least for now we can have nice semiautos (but ARs come at outrageous prices). If USA were to pass a ban on them I think it wouldn't take many years before our own politicians decide to take them away from us. I mean, it's not like we don't have a democracy erosion problem and some very though socioeconomic decisions comin....

Kind regards
