Yee ha.

http://www.mercurynews.com/crime-courts/ci_25428957/state-sen-leland-yee-indicted-arms-trafficking-corruption

Quote:
Democratic leaders in Sacramento, already stung by another recent federal corruption case, exhorted Yee to immediately step down. Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg, D-Sacramento, called the allegations against Yee "shocking" and "surreal."
"Senator Yee should leave the Senate and leave it now," he said.
They must know he's guilty as hell. Normal ops for Dems would be to circle the wagons and blame the republicans, blame the prosecutor, blame the racist Tea party, hell, even the Pope. Normally, only Republicans ever call for resignations. Dems NEVER call for one of their own to resign. See: most of the current administration.

The ironies in this case are just delicious. California state senator Leland Yee, along with fellow Democrats, pushed SB 374, which would have banned Californians from owning semi-automatic firearms of all types, a law which Governor Jerry Brown had to veto. According to the FBI, Yee needed a lot of money after his losing mayoral bid in San Francisco, and turned to another career — arms trafficking with organized crime. However, Yee ended up trying to cut his deal with a government informant — and now faces federal charges on both arms trafficking and corruption:

I hope that Swinestein is implicated in this. I know, it is a stretch, but one can hope.

I not quite sure that would be enough punishment to fit the crime. We would have to take away his Oprah Network membership as well...

Just on a whim I decided to check the other news agencies. Here is what I have found:

ABC News: a 25 second video.
CBS News: A video that I could not get to run. Duration unknown.
CNN: Nothing.
NBC News: Nothing.

See, the other are not biased. They gave the story the amount of time that they thought that it deserved.
