From the story, and the apparent organization of the BG's, he needs to be wary of attempts by their families and associates to get revenge. Especially since the dead guy's father may also be his older brother due to incest. He needs to get a Mossberg 500 pump 12 ga w a 18.5" barrel and practice with it.
Or something similar.

Hey, don't fool with them old guys, they can't fight but they can shoot. Not a bad kill ratio, 33.3% and with a .22.

Good for that man, more people (regardless of age) need to stand up for themselves.
Reminds me of a Korean War Vet at my FIL's VFW post. The guy is near 80 and a 35 year old jackwagon went road rage on him for driving to slow or some other BS. The youngster bumped 'Ol Sam and he got out of the car. The young guy took a swing, Sam ducked and then crushed his windpipe, sending him to the ER. Moral of the story, don't fool with old Vets.

The tragic part is the Old man has to live with killing the BG.
The rest was just sarcasm. As everyone always claims that the BG was just getting his life turned around, and how good of a person he was. Well if he was such a good person he would not have been breaking into someones house to start with. He would either be working to support himself or looking for employment instead of the Gubberment handouts.
