Looks like an A2 but I could not get close enough(nor could MzGrn) even for a photo...many of the big name makers were PACKED.

People have been trying to get Colt to bring back the sp1 for years, they would make a killing but they won't do it for whatever reason

The only 'A1' product that they have is a 9mm carbine, which is close but not really A1.

BTW,..I'm married to the Camera person, she's 2 ft. Away from me as I touch type this. She has been a semi-pro & pro Photog. For 10+ years aside from her many other talents, but this was her first time also doing Video with a dedicated Vid camera. She also wanted me to tell you "thanks for your support" and any time you'd like to donate us a 4k sony pro HD set up we'd be glad to use it!! Also note that she shot EVERYTHING hand held!! No Schlepping the Tri-pods or the Mono-Pod around we'd normally use to cover Football games....Not to mention the 25k plus vendors, and almost 6 figure attendance level, plus the Noise...and the fact that if you have never been to a SHOT show, the first day can be overwhelming...
Nonetheless, thanks for the words of support.
I have to echo what Doc says. There are very, very few videos that I have seen from SHOT that are notably better than the ones we got. The ones that are better are done with very expensive equipment (such as the one that was done by Shooting USA's Mike Irvine congratulating Jerry Miculek on the best show of 2013. MzGrnMnM and I were standing with the cameraman waiting our turn to interview Jerry and I asked how much the camera and sound equipment cost. The cameraman said he could not afford to buy it himself.)

The ambient background noise is almost deafening in some cases and in almost all cases it is unavoidable with the more affordable equipment we have. Also, humping more equipment all over the 14+ miles of aisles at the show (not to mention to and from the Convention Center) offers certain challenges in itself.
We do appreciate the input though.

thanks!

They could not tell us everything because not everything is "Finalized," But, we can talk about the 50th Annv. 10/22, and the one thing we heard from another Ruger rep presenting to a Shop that is based on Long Island (where we last lived until 1-3-2012) who was preparing an order of Mini-14's and Mini 30's with 5 round mags because of the SAFE Act.

The 50th Annv. 10/22 design was among many submitted by Ruger owners and Fans. The winning design will be offered for an entire year, from March 1 2014 until March 1 2015. In restricted states it will only be offered with a 5 Rd. magazine. They will also release what they call "an Original Classic" 10/22 with an original style Wood stock with the words " the 50th Anniversary Classic"

The Mini-14/30 with have new stock offerings, and also be offered in a "combo" with a Scope and Case(scopes not yet finalized)..
more in this on tonight's Podcast while we do our "SHOT Show Aftermath".....
