I've got a pretty good deal on a Bushmaster M4 if I want it...but the owner spray-painted it with Krylon. If I buy it I'd like to remove the paint and return the weapon to it's original matte black finish. Right now it's a drab desert tan and the paint job was a little sloppy. Will a regular paint remover do the job?

yes , carb cleaner may also take it off . Do not put paint strippers or carb cleaners on plastic it will melt them down . best solution for cleaning up a upper is to take the plastic handguards, grip and stock off, throw it in a heavy duty garbage bag and spray it down with carb cleaner and tie the bag up for a 45 min - 1 hr , come back and it will look like hell but it will come off easily with a rag. the vapors penetrate the spray bomb paint pretty well. Do this in a well ventilated area also
