Default Cleaning Kits/ Solvents

I'm new to owning handguns. I was wondering who makes the best gun cleaning kit/ products. Oils, etc...

Honestly, you can use any light machine oil. A few I use a lot- CLP, and Hoppes #9. There will be a dozen different opinions on what works. My only REAL opinion is STAY AWAY FROM WD-40!

CLP or hoppes will be fine. People sware by both so aparently they both work. I get whatever one is cheaper at the moment.

Hoppes is a solvent and CLP is a cleaner/lube/protectant. If you go with Hoppes then you need to buy a lubricant too which usually comes in a kit. Military uses CLP so I guess it's ok. But you'll have to find what you like and go with it. But I agree whatever is the cheapest on the shelf is what goes in my cart.

I saw some Lucas gun oil at rural king the other day, being a big fan of Lucas products I had to get it. Haven't had a chance to use it yet, but I'm sure it's going to be good.
