I've been using Ballistol for about 6 months now and I remain truly impressed. Yesterday the wife and I shot two boxes of .45 acp and a box ox .38 spc when we went back into the house I disassembled the two .45's and sprayed them down with Ballistol and the same with the revolver. I let them soak for 20/30 minutes and a few patches later they were clean as a whistle! No muss no fuss no need to lubricate good to go! It does not harm wood, plastic, rubber and cleans them all. The only negative I have heard is it will remove gold leaf, don't know if that true or not it seem unlikely not many things affect gold.

I've used breakfree CLP since the 80's. Been thinking about Balistol, sounds like a lot of people use it and are happy with it so ill give it a go if I can find it anywhere. I use Hoppes for the tougher stuff.

I've been wanting to try Ballistol but have never seen it in a store. Looks really good on those videos! Most of the time I still use Hoppes 9 on my revolvers and semi autos. If something is really gunked I'll go to Shooters Choice.

Hoppes still works great, and I love the smell too! It's just one of those smells that bring you back to being a kid again.

I can't find it in stores either and I've come close to getting some online, but never pulled the trigger.
