You did not say which company. There were 3 makers of the AR 7 that I know of- ArmaLite, which sold design to Charter, who sold it to Henry.

Charter seems to have been the worst of the lot. I do not like any of them. Barrel nut loosens up when shooting, VERY ammo picky, feed ramp is part of the magazine, reliable feeding is a goal, not a condition.
