Red dot sight

I have a 9mm 9c and don't care for the sights

Having a hard time to adjust the front sights to the back. Just one or the other become Blurry that I can't... Well not happy with it. Seen a you tube video of a red dot. That looks freaking cool
But can a red dot take the Punishment of a Slide? Don't want to pour money in to something that will break down. Looking not to spend more that $50. Am I too cheep ?

You will need to spend more than $50. The mounting kit alone will be $50 or so.

I ordered a red fiber optic front sight from Dawson Precision. Have not installed it yet because I'm getting my gun Cerakoted but when it gets back I'm going to install it.

Attachment 118440

about $40. Great reviews.

I herd those are Very touchy and easy to break.

Your comment?

Are you referring to Dawson's sights or fiber optics in general? I read good things about Dawson's products. I hope it's durable. We'll see.

Installed the fiber optic from Dawson Precision. I like it. Here is a pic. They can be fragile but easy to replace the fiber.

Nvm I saw them on the M&P picture thread.

It is true that the open type fiber optic front sights are less durable than solid steel or polymer. You will rarely find them on a service handgun. Depending on your needs, consider low profile encased fiber optics. They are a factory option on some SIGs. Steel framed and dovetailed. Made by TruGlo I think.

My 10-8 set have been through the ringer. They definitely show signs of wear. Never failed. Very easy to acquire sight picture.
If you're wanting red dot. Go trijicon rmr. But you're gonna have to have the slide milled and tapped ($200-300), and buy the optic ($400-500). But I'll bet you can't break it. ;). I have a M&P with the red dot set up I just described and I love it but, I see no real advantage over regular sights. My 2 cents. I'd go black out rear and green or red fiber optic front.
