Default Light mount

Looking for a good light to mount on my m&p 40 pro series as it's my home defense weapon, not sure what companies are good or really where to start.

first of all, Welcome to FTF!

stop over in the Introductions Section and say hello to everyone.

second, it really depends on your budget as lights can range from inexpensive to expensive.

i have several Streamlight flashlights and really like their quality. they also make a few lights for guns that you might check out. i don't have any lights for guns, but i have had very good luck with Streamlight products and i do recommend them. they aren't cheap by any means, but they are great lights.

You need a SureFire X300 or SureFire X300U (Ultra). Accept no substitutes. You can find them on eBay or LA Police Gear for considerably less than retail price.

X300 - 170 Lumens
X300U - 500 Lumens

You don't need anything else. Whatever small amount of money you might save with a lesser brand will be wasted the very first time you drop the light or impact the bezel of the light with something hard.

Buy once, cry once.
