I was finally able to put my hands on a Shield yesterday at Scheel's in Iowa City. It was not what I had expected.

The only M&P I've had an opportunity to fire is my brother-in-law's M&P22. That pistol has a fantastic trigger. I had expected something similar on the Shield. I was disappointed.

The first half of the trigger pull was very easy, then I hit a wall. It felt as if the trigger went from 3 lbs to 13 in an instant, and it was crunchy. Has anyone else found this in the pistol?

My trigger was all of that for the first 150 to 200 rounds. It is now crisp and makes a clean break. Very happy with it.

I have had my shield for 4-5 months now. Love it. I have out about 800-1000 rds through it with no hiccups of any kind. Cheap federal, win, blazer. It performed well.

Love the trigger. Took about 450 rds to get here but it is nice. I am considering a M&P9 also but the trigger has no reset. I guess I shouldn't get hung up things like that.

Just bought a M&P22 at my lgs yesterday and it also shot fantastic. Shot about 300 rds last night of superX. Some ****ty ammo but gun did good.
My 13 yr old loved it.
