i have a 9mm +p jhp for sd. will the m&p shield be okay with that?

The manual from s&w says its safe to use but will need to be serviced more often. I say use regular for the range +p for carry if you feel like you absolutely need it. Here is a screen shot of the manual.

I find this funny. We carry S&W M&P on the PD I retired from and we still use the Winchester 127 gr +p+ ammo!

Read it again. It says that +P is safe to use but the gun will require more maintenance. Below that is says +P+ is what must not be used. The OP is asking about +P.
