Just got home from the range and proud to say my m&p 9 mm hit 6000 rounds through it today and only 1 malfunction

That's good to hear. How often do you clean it?

Haven't put that many rounds thru my M&P's, (I have three), but the only malfunction I've every had was with a batch of bad ammo. Otherwise they're like the Energizer Bunny. Clean mine after every trip to the range. Old habits are hard to break.

Its funny I used to dread the armors white glove treatment after a busy day at the range but now I find cleaning my weapons enjoyable and relaxing lol. It bugs me to carry my EDC home from the range dirty and clean it asap. Off topic but I've been using Froglube(got a bunch of the $.98 sample tubes) and I'm so far convinced its as good as the adds/company sales pitch claims. Tho it does take away a lot of my cleaning/relax time lol

Ive got near 8000 now through mine(I've definitely started to loose count) and I have never had a malfunction either. I've been really impressed

Have you overhauled it ie..new springs and what type of lube do you use? I have no doubt mine will last my lifetime and beyond, who knows my great great grandkids might be shooting it(that is if the gun grabbers can be held at bay indefinitely)

The spring is nearing its end. It just doesn't have the pop it used to have. I haven't seen a malfunction yet but it's coming. Occasionally when I seat a magazine and the slide runs itself(happens with a lot of polymer guns) the round will not quite chamber. It used to always chamber a round if the slide ran but I do not consider this a malfunction since I rack the slide anyway. the spring does not have the same force it use too.

I use ballistol and gun-slick pre lubber whips. I do not clean after every trip. After a class or 300+ rounds yes.

It started as a range kit gun and I have 3 mags which also still run great. I probably just need a new guide rod spring and she'll be just fine. image-3520691328.jpg
