This weekend I had the pleasure of shooting a Security Six once again. I have loved this handgun for several years, but now I really remember why. It feels so solid and controllable at the same time. Accurate as can be and comfortable also.

I was fortunate to have one of those, meet with your friends from down the street you grew up with, share stories, memories, guns, food and love.

Praise the lord!

The Security Six is a sweet little handgun, but my opinion is probably influenced by a long association with my revolver -- we tend to like what is comfortable and familiar. The Redhawk isn't bad, either. I've fired a friend's SP a few times, and it just isn't the same. One thing I do know about the older Rugers is that they were built rock solid. My old one has had many thousands of rounds fired through it, a lot of them handloaded powder crunchers, and it's still tight. That says a lot for the quality.

My gf carries a S&W 360 M&P but keeps it loaded with 125 grn .38 Spl +P's.
.357 mags in this light of a revolver is akin to slamming your hand in a door. She's fired .357's out of it but prefers the .38 Spl's.

I'll just keep a'totin' my 3" 1911....nothing special nor nothing magnum about it but it works for me.

My primary revolver for the three H's (Hiking, Hunting, and Home), for now, is a S&W Model 686+ .357 Magnum. A little heavy but will do for now.

Yep, I bought a S&W Model 65-3 when I was in my 20's. And just yesterday me and my seven year old took a atv ride around the farm and neighborhood, I had this one strapped on my side. It's the first handgun I ever bought and I hope to enjoy for many, many more years. It's always ready and hasn't let me down yet.

The more I keep carrying and shooting my .357s, the more I know I might never have another love like that. . .

When all other guns fail... the .357 Magnum will be there to settle the score.

I've always been comfortable with the .38 Special as a home defense handgun. I keep a Model 67 S&W by the bedside with a Star .380 and 12 ga. Winchester close by as well.
