I own one Ruger 357 and two S&W 38,s -- all 3 great guns. But, if I had it all to do over again, all 3 of them would have been 357's in various lengths and sizes. There's no real reason I can think of to own a 38 when a 357 is available, unless maybe price.

Amen to that!

A .357 Magnum 4" barreled Revolver kicks less than a 1911 loaded with 185 +P JHPs. IMO

Smith Model 60. Primary carry in the summer or for occasions where my XD is too ugly for what I'm wearing. I use a Crossbreed Qwikclip.

Given the gun weight and stopping power, the 357 has been my choice for many years. Load of choice, 20.2gr Hodgdon H110 behind a 125 gr. Hornady XTP.
