I own one Ruger 357 and two S&W 38,s -- all 3 great guns. But, if I had it all to do over again, all 3 of them would have been 357's in various lengths and sizes. There's no real reason I can think of to own a 38 when a 357 is available, unless maybe price.

Amen to that!

A .357 Magnum 4" barreled Revolver kicks less than a 1911 loaded with 185 +P JHPs. IMO

Never have taken the time to shoot my snubbie.

Smith Model 60. Primary carry in the summer or for occasions where my XD is too ugly for what I'm wearing. I use a Crossbreed Qwikclip.

I use my 6" S&W 686 as a primary house and winter carry gun.

Given the gun weight and stopping power, the 357 has been my choice for many years. Load of choice, 20.2gr Hodgdon H110 behind a 125 gr. Hornady XTP.
