Just for the heck of it, what's your favorite birdshot, buckshot, and 45 colt/410 slug?
I like winchester Super Speed #6 Birdshot (it's cheap and has a very tight pattern), Winchester 3" Super-X Buckshot (its pattern isn't too tight or too wide), and Brenneke .410 Sabot's (very powerful and accurate).
Bird shot doesn't matter who makes it the size or any of that jazz, I love it for back packing I while back I got a nice diamondback that was on the trail with it. Still have the skin on my rifle sling.

I agree those things will eat anything. The PDX is probably one of the best "self defence" ammo, but keep some regular .45lc and .45lc cowboy loads are cool to and are sometimes on sale. Some .410 loads are easier to eject than others but none get stuck (that I've shot). You even have less lethal options if you agree with that sort of thing :-)
