Not sure if this is true or not. I am not aware of any Chinese ammo (other than military surplus) out in the market.

This was just sent to me and as said do not know anything other than what was sent, all I can say is I'm glad I wasn't on the back end of this one....

Nevertheless scary picture.

44 Magnum accident / Pistol for sale

OUCH!

A guy came into the PD the other day to ask a favor.
He had a S&W 629 (44 Mag.) that he wanted to dispose of after a mishap at the range.
He said there was a loud bang when he tested his new ammo, (Chinese made), and the gun smacked him in the forehead, leaving a nice gash.

When the tweety birds cleared, this is what he saw ...
Bet he never uses Chinese made Ammo again! Buyer Be Aware of MIC!

Rehash of old thread. Like many disasterous stories, this one has a new twist. Chinese ammo? I have never seen Chinese manufactured .44 Mag ammo. Gotta call BS on that part of the story.

I believe I've seen the exact same story and pics here before...

TheDaggle 07-21-2010 12:56 AM

Yup, here it is. About a month and a half ago. This has been floating around for a while.

same story

That looks more like a double charged handload to me.

Rick1967 07-21-2010 01:32 AM

Or maybe a second shot after a squib load.

CA357 07-21-2010 01:38 AM

At least it wasn't a real 629. ;)

How can you tell? It looks just like mine.

CA357 07-21-2010 01:49 AM

It's a snarky remark Rick. It's a Model 629 "Classic", a reissue of the 629 with the infernal, internal lock.
