I prefer a speed loader. I don't carry extra ammo when I carry a revolver, but do regularly practice with my speed loaders and strips.

JM uses clips, but I agree, and I haven't seen an auto shooter match his speed myself. I haven't been looking either though.

I'd take a speed loader over strips, and clips over a speed loader.

I use both, depends on my clothing worn at the time. If in dress attire, and I am carrying my LCR, I use speed strips as they present the smallest of bulges in the pocket. If I am wearing jeans or cargo pants, I usually carry a speed loader or two. Both work well for what they were designed for, and I have no preference of either...JMHO of course! By the way, I carry and have carried revolvers for CCW for over 35 years.

I cant use either... These pesky "fingers" in my cylinder..

I found an inconspicuous way to carry speedloaders when in casual clothing.

I use a LowePro Digital Camera Case and stack two speedloaders in the case. It doesn't look "gunny" and with all the cell phones and various gadgets, PDA's, on people's belts isn't out of place.

I also carry a speed strip or two in my pocket.

When wheel guns were required, I carried speed loaders on my belt and one or two speed strips in my vest trauma plate pocket. Off duty, some combination of both depending on clothing.

I much prefer Safariland loaders over HKS loaders. The Safariland loaders hold the ammo in better alignment with the cylinder and release easier and faster. I am about 3/4 second faster with the Safariland loaders.
In life, strive to take the high road....It offers a better field of fire.

I have both... I like the speed loaders because they are faster to load but I like the strips because they are easier and more discrete to carry... So I use the speed loaders when I go to the range but when I carry my revolver I take some extra ammo on a strip.
But honestly the way to go is with moon clips (if your revolver can accept them) because all you gotta do is drop them in and done! You don't have to worry about removing the rounds from the loader or strip.
