cap gun? a very old toy?

I remember similar cap guns of the day. They took the old six-shot disc caps. The disc was slotted to fit over the ribs on the back of the cylinder. The cylinder had perforations to let smoke blow through the cylinder and out the barrel when fired. Placing two discs on the rear of the cylinder produced more flash and smoke, sort of an early "double charge."

I just had a very interesting idea....what if I put a new cylinder in but a real one for like a 22lr??
I'm crazy enough to do it and I was thinking 22lr because it won't have as much pressure as a centerfire......any thoughts or ideas
Or using caps as a charge to fire ammunition

Cap gun vs. real gun; one of these is not like the other. Won't work / can't work / waste of time / impossible / horrible idea! Sorry to be harsh, but I don't know your age level and point of reference for asking this question, my advise needs to be understood.

There is crazy and there is stupid. Modifying a cap gun to fire projectiles is stupid.

If it had any value I would sell it and by a 22 handgun or my first shotgun (mossberg 500 field in 12ga)

When you do shoot it, use the hand you sign your disability checks with. Do you realize that thing is made out of zinc or some other pot metal. Send some pictures after your "very interesting idea" is first tested. How old are you boy?
