The Model 10 has a more bulbous or rounded front sight. Not elongated and tapered like that. At least that is what my Model 10, 4" .38 Spcl has.

crossfire, where it has the number, is it a 36? If so, is it just the 36 or is it something like 36-1?

The "dash" number represents an engineering change. Whenever S&W updates a model, they update the dash number. Your -1 means it's the first upgrade from the basic model 36...
