Trying to find out the model of this gun.

It looks similar to a S&W 1905 or so but all it says on it is.

For .38 Special and S.U. service CTG Serial # 682xxx

Anyone have any ideas or another way of finding out?

My guess is that its a Ruby, a Spanish made copy of the Smith & Wesson Hand Ejector of 1905. Except for the grips, I found a look-alike on Google, typing in "Ruby Revolver".

Thanks, I googled it and found one that was identical in every way except the stamps on it. Is there any way of finding out more info by the proof stamps?

They called it an astra firearms from 1908 but there is only one gun that looks like mine when I google that so I don't know how accurate that is.

EDIT: Pretty sure it is not an Astra since they seemed to have stamped all theres with a logo. It is still probably a spanish model but I still want to know moire about it.

I have a S&W with a Dec 28, 14 Patent date that looks like yours S/N 430847 the only difference is my ejector rod has a larger end.

Post the proofmarks here. You are not holding the gun close enough to the computer.

Holding it closer now. Pics are downloading from the camera now but taking forever.

Here you go. The last one says Eblen Stu???

Chris 07-17-2012 01:04 AM

So I have been researching this this all afternoon and so far I have come up with that it was brought in or sold out of Germany due to the Eblen Greco stuttgart marking. I still have no idea what the other ones are but due to the spellin error on the S.U service instead of U.S leans it more towards a chinese knock off and not a spanish one but I could be totally wrong here.
