quite a few people talk smack about Taurus. My best friend has one (Tracker in .357), and I had a Rossi .357 snubbie (same company for the most part). He loves his Tracker, and I like it too, my Rossie snubbie had no problems at all. Was a great gun, has the most comfortable stock grips I've ever felt, and only sold it cause I needed the money.

Some love those Taurus's. As for me, well, lets just say "Once bitten, twice shy", "you get what you pay for" and all that. I had ONE and that ONE was more than enough for me...i'll stick with a quality brand from here on out. Thanks.

If you are still thinking about a Taurus, look at this video about one whose barrel shot off at a range!:

357 Magnum barrel blows off - YouTube
Research has shown that there was a known problem with that firearm in the video, but they shot it anyways.

I think I should throw my Taurus hat in also, bad bad experience with one.Had a model 94 revolver in .22LR,it would religiously only fire 3 out of 9 loaded rounds, any ammo exept CCI,the CCI's would misfire every 12-25 rounds. Then the cylinder seized up.I sent the gun in and they sent me a new gun(3 months later),fired about 1500 rounds over the course of a month, suddenly chunks of metal all sheared off fell out of the gun and it ceased to fire, sent it back, and when I got the 2nd total replacement I traded it off.

Taurus never did it for me... Would rather spend a little more and get a higher level of fit and finish like you find with S&W or comparable brands. I have shot a couple Taurus revolvers as well as that Judge they have and none of them felt as though they were well put together. It just seemed like there was a lot of play in the moving parts and also a significant level of hesitations on the chamber as it moved into position. There are a lot of people who will tell you Taurus makes a fine weapon but I am not sold...

Hey thanks all for the input.

The GP100 is nice and it's a Ruger...having owned a Rug Speed Six 357 years ago, Ruger doesn't have to sell itself to me. But that was a snubby and I carried it concealed in a shoulder rig.

This is gonna be a truck gun...in the center console. With this one I want the 4".

Cane that Smitty 19-3 is a freakin beauty.

Thanks again, all. I'll let you know when I find "The One."

Dan Wesson 15-2 ,

What other .357 mag wheel gun can you diversify so much with ?

Adjustable trigger , sights . Interchangeable barrel lengths from 15" - 2.5" Interchangeable front sights . Match grade accuracy out the box

3 types of barrel shroud styles porkchop , vent heavy , Extra heavy slabside

Theres no competition imho
