Excellent condition S&W 586s run well under $500 - I bought one a year ago and it's a fantastic gun! I also picked up a 686+ (7 shot stainless) for just over $500. Another great gun.

Wow. Prices like that for 686's... its almost worth it for me to travel to find one. Folks in my neck of the woods are really proud of the 686 apparently.

Snagged up this one 10 - 12 years ago brand spankin' new for $500 out the door.
S&W 686, 6 banger, 32nd (if i remember right) B-day present from wifey...
Saw one just like it used the other day at a gun club i am thinking about joining for $600

Yeah, i am almost deadly with my 686. My groups are WAY tighter than anything i can do with the 1911.
