Taurus 905, 9mm revolver
 

We went and looked at one of these today for the wife, was wondering what everyone's thoughts on a 9mm revolver are, I carry a 9m so I was considering it so we could use the same rounds and buy in bulk instead of buying a ton of different rounds.

9mm is common, handy, and affordable. The 9 being rimless lends itself to semi, but not as well with revolvers, requiring delicate springs or time consuming moon clips. I had a s&w revolver in 9mm for a rather short time. Theres a reason why they aren't very popular. Why not get her into a semi in 9, or go with a 38 or 357 in revolver.

We got my girl friend a Ruger LCR 38 Special ($399), not the LCR 357 ($499).
The 38 Special is plenty for self defense and is all my girl friend could handle comfortably. It's one sweet little gun. Light as a potato chip, butter smooth trigger, reliable as dirt, and accurate as all heck. And felt recoil is minimal as evidenced in the video below. I've also included a review on the Taurus 905 ($347 at Budsgunshop.com) For the price difference (Taurus 905 $347 vs Ruger LCR 38 Special $399), I would prefer the LCR. But you watch both videos and you be the judge. I understand your logic in wanting a 9MM, and the Taurus does fit the bill in that area and may well be what you end up with. It's a nice little piece.

Okay thanks guys. Yea I was thinking .38 and leaning towards the Lcr, Untill I came across the 9m so I started thinking on that a little. We were looking st revolvers because I carry the G19 an she hates working the slide so autos are out of the question.

1) It's a Taurus. Step right up and play Quality Control Roulette.
2) Nearly all the pressure of a .357 without the performance.

Lcr it is!! Yea the only Taurus I ever had was a total hunk of crap, but it was an auto. Either way I never wanted one again really. Arite thanks guys.
