Default Taurus 605 Poly Pro 357

Went to my lgs to buy some ammo. While I was there I thought I would look at some handguns. I'm a big 38/357 revolver fan. The clerk handed me a Taurus 605 in 357. I had never seen it before. The price was decent, $349 and it felt good in my hands. Of course, after a few minutes of thinking about it, I thought it would look good along side my other guns. I've been reading reviews, most of which are positive. Most of the criticisms center on the light weight aspect of the gun and the recoil from the 357 mag round. I really want to hear the good, the bad and the ugly from those of you who may have some experience with it or may own one...thanks for you time.

I would bet that most of the good reviews come from this forum. Look at other forums (like THR) and you might get a different idea.

I have looked all over the place for reviews. They are good, then bad, I can't tell what's going on. I posted the same question on another forum and got beat up by taurus haters...but no one knew anything about this gun. I'm going to buy it, sometimes you just have to go with it. It's only $350 or so, not all the money in the world. Taurus does have a good warrantry so, if I need to get it fixed, I'll get it fixed.

Default The taurus 605

I have a Taurus 605 .357 Mag with a 3 inch barrel. I found it to be reliable, good handleing and reasonably accurate revolver. I have had it for nearly 3 years and over 4000 rounds fired through it. The 3 inch barrel in that small frame revolver is ideal for me and I feel that it is a perfect length.

I have one 2in ported maybe 500 rounds all 357 no problem had it about five years it is what you
Would expect I don't think of it as a target piece
But within 10 yards I'd trust my life to it

Default My 605 3 inch

Guys,
Sorry my 605 is a stainless steel revolver. I saw Taurus 605 and did not read "poly" in the OP's opening statement. But the 605 that I have is a reliable firearm, and I have no doubt the Polymer version would be the same reliable accurate shooter.
