Default A Steal on Some Steel

So there's a new gun shop a little outside town and I went out this afternoon to see what they had. It was alot of the same stuff (plastic) you see in every gun store nowadays, but they had a great selection of new and used, unique revolvers at great prices. So I stole this one at $400 as soon as I saw it.

Damn.

Damn fine addition to the family I mean.

Really good looking revolver for $400. How does the barrel look?

.44 Magnum, a manly caliber and a stout revolver to send it on its way.

Excellent believe it or not. I checked it at the shop kind of "once over" style for excessive wear on the forcing cone and saw very little. When I got home I lit it up and inspected a little closer. The rifling looks good, even comparable to a couple of ones I got new.

There is a slight amount of cutting on the top strap at the cylinder gap, but you wouldn't notice if you weren't looking.

And what was great also was that the older man who owns the place was a super nice guy and an avid revolver hunter/shooter. He gently guided me away from a S&W 629-1 after asking what the intended use was going to be (heavy/mountain).

Don't get me wrong I'm still trying to come up with a plan for that one. . .
