Default Smith and Wesson Serial Number

I was wondering if anyone can tell me the date and model of a 6" revolver I have with a serial number of K89551? thanks

What kind of revolver is it? IE: maybe a model number,caliber? those would be helpful.

38 Special. It doesn't say a model number. number inside cylinder frame is 31887?

Still trying to figure out anything on this. If anyone can help. I cannot believe Smith and Wesson charges $50.
