The model 28 came with the baugham ramped front sight with red insert. It could be ordered with the partridge target sights of the model 27.The model 27 had the checkered top strap and high gloss finish and came with the partridge sight(targetsight). The 28 had what was called a satin finish that simply meant It was not sent to be polished like the model 27.Partridge sights do not slide in and out of holsters like the ramped sights.
