What are your thoughts? What do you prefer? Also how would you compare the S&W Bodyguard 38 to the other two?

S&W versus Ruger?????

not even a consideration IME.

S&W = Cadillac

Ruger = Hyundai

The 442 is just a overall outstanding weapon for a CCW-
The Ruger is a good handgun--

I had a chiefs special for over 10 years swapped out the grips and loved it. Rugers seems cheap to me. S&W feels more solid IMO.

Everyone is going to have a different "Expert Opinion" here. Mine is Ruger makes the very best revolver on the market. Well built, tough work horses. If you get a chance shoot a box or two of ammo out of each and decide after experiencing them yourself. We all like and dislike different guns for different reasons. The gun you shoot best is the best gun for you. The gun I shoot best is the best gun for me.

Both ruger and s&w are great choices. Depends on your budget. Buy both, then you always have a backup

I prefer my Ruger LCR to the S&W that I traded off for it.
