Smith Bodyguard .38

I want one. Passionately. I've loved the gun ever since I first saw one. The newer ones in black are really nice, the body fits my hand well, and I've got a big old chubby to get one for CC
Now what I would like to know is there ANY place where I could maybe get a discounted one, or another vendor site that I could have ship to my FFL girl for me? I mean yeah 499 is a pretty good deal IMO for a new one, but if i can do cheaper I'd love to do it and come out ahead.

Any thoughts or ideas?? And seriously I just really love that weapon man, it just gets my rocks off.

I bought my wife a S&W 638 a couple weeks ago. Similar but it cost me $400. Just a thought, bobbed hammer in .38spl+p I like it.

it's freaking beautiful. I swear i have such a hardon for one of these. I would love to hear if anyone knows where to find one I can buy online or whatever- i got a good FFL girl i can ship to so I can buy from anywhere.

Had my Bodyguard for a year or so. Light, concealable but it will take a trip or three to the range to get used to it. Small grip, long DA trigger pull. I'm OK with mine now, but it took a while.

I love my 642 Deluxe. I paid $375 for, not sure if that's a good deal or not, but I don't really car. It rides in my pocket just fine in almost any pants I wear. I could put a boot grip on and make it a little shorter but I like the deluxe grip. It did take a little range time to get used to the trigger, particularly coming from shooting 1911's a lot, but I am fine with it now.

I haven't shot it yet, going later tonight to shoot it. Hopefully my wife likes it so she will carry it. I already "stole" her Glock from her, but I think she will do fine with it.

As JD1969 said the 642 and the 442 and 638 all sell for 375 to 385 around here.

Best thang you can do is check with guns stores for there prices. Your bond to find one that sells at a reduced price. I have allways found smaller store more likely to deal on priceing.

Me and my wife shot it before i came to work tonight and i was suprised at how mild the recoil was. Ive shot my mother in laws Lcr and that thing had more recoil than the smith. We shot some mild .38's first then shot a few +p rounds and the recoil was defenitly heavier with the +p rounds but very mild to shoot. Great buy in my opinion.

How does the lcr feel when you shoot it? I held it but was curious about recoil absorbtion.

The Lcr is a great gun, but i personally like the smith a little better. The Lcr is very nice and recoil is pretty mild for a small package. For me the grips on the smith fit better in my hands and im sure thats the why the recoil isnt as bad on the smith.
