The revolver is my buddies but the one im getting is same brand and model just has a 2" barrel not a 3" barrel. The one imgetting is in layaway but im paying off next week.

Altho im an advocate of the .357 for it round versatility and being a lil heavier helping with recoil. I think you made a fine choice for a woman i started my wife and mama out on a snubby .357 tho i only load it with .38 target loads. My take is this women aren't going to train (for the most part) like we would and surely not going to mentally prepare themselves for that oh **** moment where you just may have to use that weapon to defend your life. And if you loose wrist many autos you have a jam giving the assailant a chance to hurt your loved one. A revolver is always going to be ready for the next shot given it fair quality and cared for so long and short my recommendation to anyone looking for there female counter part or even mama a nice defense weapon its wheelgun every time.

If I've said it once I've said it a thousand times. It's really hard to go wrong with a Smith. I have the 637 airweight that can use +p ammo and have no issues with it at all. I honestly can't remember if the 37 can do +p but honestly it doesn't matter. A good 38 spl round is a right fine caliber in my opinion. And it's pretty easy to handle.

All but one of my wheel guns are Smiths. They simply make really good revolvers.

32 years ago on my 21st birthday I bought a S&W model 60, and a S&W 586. The stainless 686 wasnt out yet. Both revolvers have served me well. There have been a number of 9mm's. a couple of .40cal and a few .45s come and go. Those two wheel guns are my fave. My wife decided she wanted something in between. She chose a Ruger SP101 carries and shoots .38+Ps in it.
Matter of fact I never carry .357 rounds in my 586 always +Ps. I dont like the recoil and want to be able to hear exactly where that bear went after the shot.
I was hound hunting one time. The dogs had treed a bear. I got to the tree first and grabbed a dog to stake it out. That old Walker latched onto my left arm, chomped down hard. I dropped my rifle struggling with the dog and then the bear came out of the tree. LOL
The tree was right at the base of the cliff, no where for the bear to go but at me. LOL
So had a dog gnawing on my left arm, a bear coming at me, I pulled the S&W 60 and put all 5 rounds in its skull... 38s do the trick...
