DefaultS&W REV. 38 Spec.????

Have a chance to buy a K-38 Masterpiece Stainless Revolver Model No. 67. Just copied that off the paper work that's how I know. What sort of quality is this particular model? The serial number reads AHW2427. I am thinking about buying the revolver just to have around the house for a little defense backup for my Mossburg 20 gauge. My friend is asking $325 , is it worth it?

I bought it and got to the range yesterday afternoon. Fired 38 rounds at about 35-40 feet. I was using an opend 12 pack carton placed long ways. Got 36 in the middle, the two shots I messed up were quick shots after firing a first. I was pleased. My purpose is self defense so being able to hit what I am shooting at is important. A closer pattern should come later with more practice.

Nothing wrong with nice .38. However, many people have told me that although it's great to be able to shoot at a longer range, you should probably practice at a shorter distance. Maybe somewhere around fifteen feet.
