Re: Teardown- Don't. No, really- don't. The revolver you bought does NOT require disassembly for cleaning and maintenance- and taking it apart is not advised.
If you plan to carry a speedloader, check that it will work with those grips. I carry speedstrips.

I'm wanting to get some speed strips or speed loaders for it, would also like to get some wooden grips for it, can't wait to shoot it!

Sweet looking gun. Is the trigger white or is that just the pic?

I have a model 36 chromed from the late fifties. Got nice grips from Eagle Grips, and they work with a speed loader. Speed loader and ammo are a small package to carry in your pocket. I was surprised tha first time I fired such a short barrel, but practice does the trick.

I've never fired an snubbie in a centerfire before, I've shot full size 357&44 mags, and snub 22 lr, but I can't wait to shoot this thing, it will only fire 38 sp so I don't think it will break my wrist too bad, gonna order some hks loaders for it and try to get some plinking ammo for it, any idea on a decent holster for it, I can't ccw in Illinois yet, but live on a couple hundred acres so I will carry it as a woods gun for sure.

Thanks, ill look into one tomorrow for it, in definitely gonna order a couple speed loaders for it as well and a pouch to carry them in, I'm stoked to shoot this thing, I emailed smith with the serial number to see when it was made, cool little revolver and beautiful to boot, I'm in love with it so far. I'm assuming I can dry fire practice this until I get some snap caps for it.

Smith just emailed me back it was manufacrured in 1969, and they told me to not fire +p ammo in it, so I will go and try to find some that isn't for plinking, is there any ammo out there for defense that isn't +p or should I keep it loaded with them anyways?

I had one just like this, the trigger is a matte silver by comparison to the rest of the pistol.
Me, I didn't LOVE the pistol, too much snap for me. And since I have a .380 for carry, I had no need for it, so I sold it for about $250, which was what I paid for it 13 years ago.
