Default S&W Model 50

I saw a picture today of a gun I liked, it was a square butt J-Frame S&W and had the regular S&W adjustable type rear sights with a 3" barrel instead of the shorters ones like the Model 36's. The web page stated it was produced between 1955 & 1975 as a Model 50 with target sights in 2" and 3" barrel lengths but I can't find any info on the web other than this one post. There's a photo of a fancy engraved one here at I'm not a gun authority by any means but this one I've missed in life I guess.. any info on it would be appreciated.
