When I got the latest Rifleman, I was astounded to read that a S&W Model 36 was valued at $460.00

I bought a model 36 Ladysmith for my wife sometime in the mid 80's to mid 90's. I'm wondering if I should buy her something cheaper and oil it up and put it away.

If someone has a Blue Book I'd really appreciate a ballpark value. The revolver is the ladysmith version, blued, rosewood grips and engraved "Ladysmith". It is still in 99% condition and we still have the hard case and cleaning stuff that came with it. Serial is BDV 08XX

My Blue Book is a year or 2 old, but it says $ 475 in 1005 and $350 inm 98%. I sure would keep carring it though. They are hard to beat for a gun that small.
